Netherlands & Germany

Combine your interest in international travel with your studies as you explore global supply chains in the Netherlands & Germany, including the cities of Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Bremen & Hamburg.

FEATURED COURSE

IBU 395: Study Abroad in Business Topics in International Supply Chain

This class will comprise 5 weeks of face to face class learning including a 10-day experiential study abroad program in the Netherlands & Germany. We will visit numerous international businesses, and interface with students and professors at the Rotterdam Mainport Institute. Highlight activities of the Netherlands include tours of Aalsmeer flower market, Expeditors at Schipol Airport, an “Amazing Race” experience and port tour by boat in Rotterdam. In Germany, we will see the Mercedes Benz assembly plant and Prysmian’s subsea cable manufacturing facilities on the North Sea, while visiting Bremen, Nordenham and Hamburg.

EXPECTED COST

$3,875 (before scholarships)

Amount includes program costs, accommodation (including breakfast), some meals, airfare, and local transportation. Costs of side trips, other meals, and individual spending money are not included.

HAILE STUDENT INTERNATIONAL MOBILITY GRANT

The first 7 business majors or minors who apply and pay the deposit will receive a $750 Haile College of Business Scholarship. Other scholarships are also available through the Office of Education Abroad.

Germany

Travel to Bremen Germany and take SPB 307 - Moneyball: Business Models in Sport & Events. Courses are taught Monday - Thursday with three-day weekends perfect for traveling and exploring. You will be able to complete three to six credit hours in just four weeks. Finally, tuition is waived for the course, making this opportunity more affordable!

The course will be from June 1 to June 26, 2026

Deadline to apply: February 23rd, 2026 (application and deposit)

  1. Apply online studyabroadapplications.nku.edu. Questions? Office of Education Abroad UC 305, studyabroad@nku.edu; 859-572-6194.
  2. Once your application is on file and your deposit ($475) for the course paid, apply for scholarships from the Office of Study Abroad (studyabroad.nku.edu). Your application and deposit payment automatically trigger your application for the Haile College scholarships (8 $750 grants available on first come, first served basis for qualified Haile College students).

  • Tuition: Waived
  • Flight: Your Choice (approximately $1,500)
